Combining all the great features of our world-renowned Kurt D688 and 3600V vises, along with new state-of-the-art workholding features, Kurt® Workholding’s revolutionary DX6® CrossOver® vise achieves new levels in precision and performance where flatness and parallelism are important. Featuring a cast on stationary allowing for less deflection and more stability of the vise body during clamping.
By every measure, this is a better vise than our own D688. The DX6 CrossOver vise features the same bed height and keyway to the stationary jaw face as the D688, a redesigned nut with lighter weight, and a new brush seal design. The bearing pack is larger, stronger, and more durable than our other designs, and our proprietary AngLock® spherical segment creates all-directional alignment and reduces jaw lift for improved performance.

The DX6 vise that I ordered from Kurt is a jewel of machining. The reputation Kurt has is well deserved with this being my first Kurt product as a home machinist. I will certainly be adding to my collection as my needs develop.

I purchased two of the revised DX6 Kurt vises and love them. You can see the quality in them in the grinding and fitment of everything. I have only one small complaint and that is they should provide a cap/plug for the hole for mounting on a swivel base. Chips get packed in there and it’s between the mounting hardware so it just collects and traps chips in the T-Slot be under the vise. I feel like Kurt should supply this plug to avoid that issue. Otherwise I can find fault with it anywhere else! I will buy more of these in the coming months.

It arrived at my workshop today. It took a while to get here since I had to ship it from the US down to the Caribbean (Trinidad). This thing is an awesome piece of equipment.
